Who is it made for?

If you enjoy a nice warm fire at night but hate the idea of cleaning up the ash in the morning, or you like to barbecue and would like a less messy way to clean up the ash, then this is probably a product you will find useful. Its main purpose is to deal with fine dry particles.

Features & Benefits Of Shop Vac 4041200 Ash Vacuum

High-quality filter

If you are worried that ash is able to escape into the air as you vacuum, don’t be. The 4041200 is fitted with HEPA filters which are used in most air purifiers so the filter will trap fine particles to ensure nothing escapes into the air. HEPA filters are the best kind of filters to use for fine particles and if you deal with ash a lot you should know how small those particles are yet this vacuum will prevent them from escaping.

Portable

You are able to lift this vacuum using the top carry handle and it is not heavy or big which would prove beneficial as you carry it from the storage area to the area that you would like to vacuum. If you have more than one fireplace, then you may be concern about having to move the vacuum around but that should not be a problem as this vacuum has been designed for easy portability. I also find that this feature comes in handy when emptying the tank.

Steel tank

In my opinion, stainless steel looks much better than plastic so if you chose to keep the shop vac in the living room near the fireplace, it would add to the aesthetic appearance of the room. That aside, if you are interested in durability, chances are a stainless steel tank will last longer and can take more harsh treatment than plastic. Cleaning out the ash from the tank is much easier. A quick wipe would get rid of ash that did not pour out.

Automatic turn-off

If you are vacuuming and it happens that the ash is not all burnt out, this shop vac has a switch that will automatically turn off if hot coals are sucked in. this feature protects the vac from damage and you too since it is not safe to suck up hot pellets that may damage the motor or the filter system. With this feature, you do not have to check in the morning to see if there may be some fire still covered in the ash

Easy to use

When it comes to operating the shop vac 4041200, there is no rocket science involved. You should find that the buttons are self-explanatory and you can follow the instructions provided if anything seems unclear. I think the on switch is conveniently placed near the handle so that you can easily press with just one finger while you carry the vacuum with the same hand. Just make sure you take good care of the filter. Cleaning the filter after every use is highly recommended.

It does a good job for cleaning a pellet stove but must be cleaned with a compressor after each use. Also, very difficult to find a replacement filter for.
